Our Story
Forming Connections was created to offer therapy and behaviour support services that are neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and truly person-centred. Our founders, Abel Trindade and Dr Paboda Ratnayake, bring together a wealth of experience in behaviour support, mental health, and allied health leadership.
Abel is an Advanced/Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner, Registered Psychologist, and Board-approved Supervisor who has worked across community services, mental health, and education settings. He is passionate about translating evidence-based strategies into everyday supports that build safety, skills, and independence for participants and their families.
Paboda is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in the care of adults with experience in mental health, disability, assessment, and treatment. She has a particular interest in supporting people with neurodevelopmental differences, delivering trauma-informed care, and strengthening clinical governance to ensure quality outcomes.
Together, they envisioned a service where people feel heard and respected, families feel supported and included, communities are strengthened, and clinicians feel nurtured to deliver their best work.
